Eating Right

Heard from a dear friend last week... here is what she said:

"Yesterday I went to the doctor for my yearly physical. My blood pressure was high, my cholesterol was high, I'd gained some weight, and I didn't feel so hot. My doctor said eating right doesn't have to be complicated and it would solve my physical problems. He said just think in colors... Fill your plate with bright colors... greens, yellows, reds, etc. I went right home and followed the Doctor's orders...
And sure enough, I felt better immediately. I never knew eating right could be so easy.
Also... note on "gender predictor poll" - Interestingly enough... the results for those that voted on the accuracy of the gender prediction chart was split equally between 100% - incorrect at least 2/3rds of the time!! So, for those preggie mommies out there... I guess I wouldn't put much stock in trying to use the Gregorian Calendar chart to determine what gender your baby is. LOL

That sounds like a diet I could stay on! In fact I've been on it most of my adult life!

That was fun - thanks for sharing it!

Love the diet plan, but unfortunately, it is to what I owe my not-so-fine physique!

I'll have to keep that in mind.

I heard there is this food processor that works great for healthy eating as well. I'm sure no one uses those for treats....do they? :0)

Ha! I love the colorful plate. Beats carrots and brussels sprouts ANY DAY!!

I remember asking my doctor when I was pregnant if there was any way to tell what the gender of my baby was (this was 25 yrs ago before they did ultrasounds on a weekly basis and just for fun) and he said, "Oh, yes, we can tell precisely and we are always right. 50% of them will be boys." He was so clever.

I'm probably one of few that actually prefers fruits and veggies to candy (although I do enjoy really good chocolate for special treats)
Fun post!!

You mean I could eat m 'n m's all day and still be healthy?

Lol, just kidding. My husband and I watched program on morbid obesity last night... one important point that was made is similar to yours. The things that make us fat are "beige." Things like baked goods, cookies, donuts, etc. Fortunately, I like lots of color, and a salad every night suits me just fine. Plus I feel satiated for longer with a tummy full of fibrous greens. :~)

LOL. And have you tried the new Razzleberry ones? They are so good they should be illegal. Dark chocolate and raspberries? I'm there.
