I recently received this from my cousin, Irene, via email... Pretty amazing!! (and embarrassing...Ouch!!)

I would be in a bit of trouble if I were an eighth grader in 1895. It is sad to see how far our education system has not come. :(

This perfectly illustrates the *dumbing down* that has taken place in our American education system. Oh that our college graduates of today had an 8th grade education from 1895!!

[*sigh* and no I didn't know all the answers either!]

My grandpa who is almost 99 never finished high school, but I have always thought he was very smart. If they were giving this same test, I can see why!

Hey, I just failed the little on- line diddy quiz to see if I could become an American citizen. Do you really think I up for this? Thank the Lord I'm not going on television to play that new game show because we all know that, "I AM NOT SMARTER THAN A FIFTH GRADER".

That's wild.. but I know it is true. My Grandfather (born 1904) only had an 8th grade education, but he was really pretty smart! I got to see his "science notebook"... wow, physics experiments and the whole nine yards! He was raised near the Kansas and Missouri line. My hasn't society changed... and we think we are so smart!!
