A Visit From Sis
A Visit From Sis
My Sister spent the past week with us and, as usual, we had a great time together! I wanted to give her a break from her daily routines as a busy homeschooling Mom of two (wonderful) teenagers, a wife and homemaker. Not to mention her newest job as band manager and sound tech for the "oldies band" her husband is involved in.
So, we ate out...alot..., went shopping, watched movies (a scary movie and a few love stories), played cards, stayed up late, slept in late, exercised together, ate out some more...ate at home... more shopping, visited with family and friends...etc, etc, etc! Fun week!
Thought I'd share just a couple of the pictures to give you a taste of a few of our activities.

Dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant
Yummmmm...The BEST Fajitas!
Our Traditional outing to The Olive Garden Restaurant. Some day I'll have to post the story of why it is such a special tradition with us!
Lunch at Panera Bread with "the girls". Did I mention we ate out alot??!!
We taught Sis a new version of our favorite card game: Hand and Foot
One morning we had fun out in the yard snapping pictures of our new family of barn swallows. They return annually to the same nest under the eves of our front porch.
I also caught this picture of Freddie, the lizard that frequents our front porch.
I am blessed to have such a special sister and by the relationship that we have developed over the years.

I have always longed for a sister. Posts like this make me long even harder...
Looks like you all had a lovely time.
What adorable pics of the birds and the lizard. Is your house that peaceful geen color?
I agree with Tracy. I miss not having had a sister. But, God has blessed me with daughters too, so now that they are grown (well, two of them) we enjoy doing things like this together also.
It looks like you all have a very special bond.
Blessings,
Karen
Looks like you all had a blast! And... of course, when you live in the "eat out" capitol of the world... you have to "go with the flow." ;-) LOL
Oh.... and LOVE that lizard pic!
What a sweet time you enjoyed! I especially like the *eating at restaurants* part. :o)
Awwww....I want a sister!
It looks like you had such a wonderful time with her! What a blessing!
Yes ladies, we had a GREAT time together. I am sorry for those of you that yearn for a sister... I'm sure the friendship of daughters and/or friends can fill that void somewhat. Since I'm 5 1/2 years older than my sister, it took us awhile to get to the place in life that we became as close as we are. Now that we are older, we have alot more in common... and we work at cultivating our closeness. With 4 brothers... we HAD to stick together!! LOL! Yes Haus Frau & Bee(my original eat out buddy), we DO love to eat out. :-) Blessings to all, Diane
Looks like you had a wonderful time with your sister. I love the Olive Garden too. I'm glad you had so much fun and enjoyed each others company and that you got to eat out lots.
